Application and selection procedure:

Students seeking placement at ICMR-NIMR for fulfilling their Master’s thesis requirement should submit the following documents AS ONE PDF FILE by email: 

1. Application in favor of the Director, NIMR mentioning the name/s of NIMR scientist / project / research area where the student intends to work. In case, you have not yet identified the scientist, please mention that as well in the application letter 

2. Latest curriculum vitae 

3. Scanned copy of supporting letter from the Principal/Head of the Department of the college / University.   

Eligible candidates after initial screening may be asked for a personal discussion at ICMR-NIMR, New Delhi and based on the availability of positions, the student may be permitted to join. Please send complete applications clearly mentioning “Application for internship” in the subject line to aspsm2003@yahoo.co.in. 

Please note that applications sent by hard copies or by emails to individual scientists will NOT be considered. Incomplete applications or applications not as per the format will be out-rightly rejected. 

Training fee, laboratory and other facilities: 

For Master’s thesis dissertation program, a one-time fee of ₹ 10,000=00 (Ten thousand only for six months’ training) and ₹ 5,000=00 (Five thousand only for three months’ training) is payable ONLINE in advance after receiving the permission letter to join the program. The details for the online payment will be communicated later once the application has been received, scanned and the candidate is provisionally accepted by a scientist of ICMR-NIMR depending on the candidate’s qualifications, suitability and lab space available with the scientist.  

General guidelines:

At present there is no housing facility at ICMR-NIMR to host the students. Selected students will have to make their own arrangements for accommodation.  No TA/DA will be paid to the short-listed candidates for attending personal discussions at ICMR-NIMR.
